Remaining compliant in your pre-employment background screening is becoming more difficult. Over the past several years many state and local jurisdictions have passed “fair chance” hiring laws that limit an employer’s use of a background report in their screening process of new applicants.
These laws limit the kinds of information a employer can considers upon hire and other information may no longer be available to consumer reporting agencies (CRA) and employers through expanded criminal record expungement, including automatic expungement in some cases.
